The best caves to Visit in Phong Nha | Vietnam

Phong Nha has become a magnet for tourists especially since the biggest cave in the world was found. Phong Nha is in the centre of Vietnam and definitely worth a trip it will definitely be one of the highlights of your travels in Vietnam. Make sure you roam around with a motorbike to appreciate the beautiful surroundings Phong Nha has to offer. There are many caves at this National park but here are the best caves to visit in Phong Nha.

Dark Cave

Dark cave is more of an adventure park in fact it attracts many backpackers. The ticket costs 450,000Dong but for that you have zip lining 400 meters over the river, swimming to the cave and kayaking, mud bath experience in the cave where natural mud is produced, obstacle race equipment over the river as well as lunch. The cave is called dark cave because it is not artificially lit and hence all equipment and head torches are provided. It takes around 3-4 hours to complete. It’s easy to get there by renting a motorbike for 100,000Dong because its only 20-30 minutes away from the town.

Phong Nha Cave

Phong Nha cave is a cave very close to town, only a 3 minute walk by the town’s river side where you can buy a ticket for 150,000Dong to enter the cave plus another 350,000Dong for the boat which can be split. If you’re a small group then wait at the ticket counter to find other people to share the boat with. The boat takes up to 14 people. So the boat can cost as much as 175000Dong between 2 or only 25,000Dong between 14, so be patient and wait for another group to enter this magnificent cave. The cave is 7km long but tourists can only explore the first 1.5km. It is artificially lit beautifully in different colours boating its great stalactites and stalagmites.

Paradise Cave

Only a 10 minute drive from Dark Cave you will find Paradise Cave. A stunning underground cathedral with 100 meters highest and 150 meter wide at its biggest point with its glittering formations. This cave is 31 km long making it the longest cave in Asia but a board walk allows you explore the 1st kilometre of the cave. The motorbike parking fee is 5000Dong while the entrance ticket is 250000Dong. You can also pay an extra shared 100000Dong return for a buggy whilst inside the cave to bypass the strenuous stairs.
